Accreditation and Achievements

We feel that in order for us to fulfill the calling of God upon the Disciples of Christ to teach sound doctrine, and in order to keep the price of tuition as low as possible for our students preparing themselves for ministry, the pursuit of accreditation is not a worthy pursuit at this time. Degrees and courses offered at WSMBCS have been declared by the appropriate state authority exempt  from the requirements for licensure, under provisions of North Carolina General Statutes Section (G.S.) 116-15(d) for exemption from licensure with respect to religious education. Exemption from licensure is not based upon assessment of program quality under established licensing standards.

If you must have an accredited degree, it is recommended that you refer to the databases of either or both the US Dept. of Education (USDE): http://op.ed.gov/accreditation and/or Council for Higher Education (CHEA): http://chea.org/search.
